ACT 4 SCENE 3 LAYOUT ROUGHS

So here's Act 4 Scene 3 in the graphic novel this is just four pages long , Hamlet is summoned before Claudius, Hamlet manages to wind up Claudius and Claudius starts to make plans on Hamlet's death i used alot of wide screen panels on these pages to give a cinematic feel to the pace of the play, notice on page 121 i drew alot of close up's of Hamlet and Claudius to show off their expressions just as a camera man /director would in a movie.

ACT 4 SCENE 2 LAYOUT ROUGHS

Act 4 scene 2 is again just 2 pages in the graphic novel
nothing happens apart from Hamlet being summoned to see the King .
the first panel page 116 is establishing shot of Hamlet's bedroom
so it's full of his things to do with hunting , shields, bows , swords etc

This scene is only 2 pages in the graphic novel
to add drama and impact on page 114 i drew Claudius breaking out of the bottom panel fists flying up in the air

ACT 3 SCENE 4 LAYOUT ROUGHS

This scene lasts for 10 pages of the graphic novel ,
this scene has alot of high emotion stuff going on Hamlet losing his mind and temper killing Polonius, attacking his Mother the Queen and seeing his dead father's ghost again you'll see notes next to my roughs for the penciler to follow , from these pages my favourite page is 107 the page looks like stills from a wide screen movie lot's of emotion in the last panel with both Hamlet and his Mother in tears , this page moved me when i was drawing it...powerful stuff .

This scene is just four pages in the graphic novel it's King Claudius in the chapel wrestling with his thoughts and Hamlet observing him and feeling tempted to strike him down with his sword, as usual there are side notes for the artist to follow.
i'm still pleased with panels 438 and 443 both showing close up drama with the aid of shadows on the faces

ACT3 SCENE 2 LAYOUTS

Act 3 Scene 2 here is where Hamlet stages a play to accuse King Claudius of killing his father , this scene lasts 19 pages of the graphic novel.
As before you'll see side notes for the artist to follow plus the odd side panel face to explain emotion as in page 91 bottom panel.

ACT 3 SCENE 1 LAYOUT / ROUGHS

So this scene is 9 pages long , again a lot of attention was place on facial emotions , hand jests and staging just like a real play the strip also has lighting elements to make some frames more atmospheric such as page 75 panel 4 where Hamlet is saying his famous speech.

Extra details where written for the penciler to follow as side notes or more faces to show exact expressions.
